Terms and Conditions

Altitude Bikes Limited reserves the right to modify itineraries in situations we deem unsafe, such as adverse weather conditions.

Altitude Bikes Limited shall not be held responsible for any damage, expense or inconvenience caused by the late arrival of public transport, change of schedule, strikes, vehicle breakdown, Acts of God, or other conditions.

Altitude Bikes Limited acts solely as an agent in securing accommodation and public transport where applicable and shall not be held liable in the event of any failure by such providers to render services booked by us.

Altitude Bikes Limited reserves the right to resell a tour space, without notice, if final payment has not been made by the due date.

Payments

Upon receipt of a 20% deposit (minimum fee of $100.00) your booking will be confirmed.  The balance is to be paid within 2 months of your departure date.

If bookings are within 1 month of departure date, the total cost of the tour is required.  All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include 15% GST.

We accept EFTPOS, visa and direct credit payments.  Paying by credit card will incur a 2.9% transaction fee.

By making a deposit/payment you are deemed to have accepted Altitude Bikes Limited’s Terms and Conditions.

Amendments to itineraries, tours, shuttles and bike hire will incur a $25.00 fee per change.

Cancellations by You

  • Any cancellation by you must be made in writing by the person booking the tour.
  • Our standard terms and conditions as outlined below apply to all cancellations including COVID 19.
  • Cancellation fees apply as per the following:
  • If cancellation takes place more than 60 days prior to your departure date your full deposit will be forfeited.
  • If cancellation takes place between 30 – 60 days prior to your departure date 50% of the tour price will be forfeited.
  • If cancellation takes place less than 30 days prior to your departure date, 100% of the tour price will be forfeited.
  • The tour price is quoted as a package.  No partial refunds or credits will be given for services not used.
  • Altitude Bikes recommends you seek insurance cover for illness or events outside of your control.

Cancellation by Altitude Bikes

  • Altitude Bikes reserves the right to cancel any booking at any time up to the travel departure date.  You will be notified promptly of any such cancellations.
  • Altitude Bikes shall have no liability whatsoever for any cancellations of a booking, tour or other travel arrangement except to the extent that any amounts paid by you with respect to your booking shall be refunded by Altitude Bikes, excluding insurance premiums, variation fees and additional fees, as applicable.

Payments/Refunds of Your Booking

When paying Altitude Bikes by direct credit from a foreign bank account or if Altitude Bikes is required to pay a refund into a foreign bank account all bank fees applied to Altitude Bikes will be passed directly to you or deducted from any payment from you.

Bike Hire & Transport

Where personal bikes are being used for your trail journey we will take all reasonable care to protect your bike in transit, but will not accept any responsibility for damage as a result of that transport.

If you have hired a bike from us, it is your responsibility to return the bike to us in the same condition it was at the beginning of the hire. We accept there will be general wear and tear however excessive damage will be at your cost.  There may be a relocation cost for the transport of a bike between points or depots e.g. Where a comfort bike is replaced with an e-bike.

Safety Terms and Conditions

There are inherent risks in any adventure activity and while the staff and management of Altitude Bikes Ltd take all practical steps to identify and minimize potential dangers, it is a condition of us accepting your booking that you agree to follow instructions and use the safety equipment provided at all times.

Altitude Bikes Ltd relinquishes any liability for injury or damage as a result of participation in our activities.

It is a condition of us accepting your booking that:

This release covers the tour, associated transport and equipment provided to you by Altitude Bikes Ltd.

You have acknowledged that taking part in this activity involves certain inherent risks including, navigational difficulties, collision, inclement weather, terrain conditions, illness and accidents and despite these risks you wish to take part in this activity and accept responsibility for your own safety and for the above risks.

You will wear an approved safety helmet at all times when cycling.

You will not make any claim against Altitude Bikes Limited, its employees or any organisation associated with this company, for any injury/loss to yourself or others (including any person accompanying you under the age of 18), or for any damage to your own or others property as a result of your participation in an Altitude Bikes Limited tour.  This includes the travel to and from the tours.

You will indemnify Altitude Bikes Ltd against all claims, damages or losses (including costs), which it incurs as the direct or indirect result of you taking part in the tour including costs of enforcing this release.

You understand that all riding sections of Altitude Bikes Limited off-road tours are non-smoking for safety reasons.

You agree that this release is binding on your family, your heirs, your legal assignees, your administrators and executors.  You are 19 years of age or older.  You have fully read and understood this release before signing it or agreeing to come on the tour.

Liability

Customer bookings are accepted on the understanding that they appreciate the possible risks inherent in adventure travel which include but are not limited to illness, rough terrain, inclement weather, other cyclists and other trail users.  Altitude Bikes undertakes to perform all services with reasonable care and skill.  We have exercised all care to ensure the information given is correct, accurate and up to date.  We cannot be held responsible for loss, damage or disruptions outside of our control.

Customer Responsibility

Customer responsibility is for the care and safekeeping of all equipment hired from Altitude Bikes for the duration of the tour/hire.  If damage is deemed to be beyond general wear and tear and more customer neglect, you will be contacted and invoiced to cover the cost to return the bike to the order in which you initially received it.

Insurance

Travel insurance is highly recommended for all customers.

Claims and Complaints Procedure

If a customer has a complaint during the trip, the customer should inform Altitude Bikes Limited immediately who will endeavour to rectify the matter.
