What to expect on the trail
Commence your ride on the Lake Dunstan Trail, the newest of all trails in Central Otago and dubbed “New Zealand’s most spectacular ride”. Continue the Roxburgh Gorge Trail, one of New Zealand’s most visually spectacular day rides alongside the Clutha Mata-Au River, past old gold workings set amidst willows trees, native shrubs and fragrant thyme. Included in the last leg is the Clutha Gold Trail that continues alongside the powerful Clutha Mata-Au River through a fertile valley, secluded gorge and lush green farmland.
Day 1
Shuttle from your accommodation in Alexandra / Clyde
to Old Cromwell to commence the Lake Dunstan Trail

Cycle Clyde to Roxburgh (56 kms)
